NDMC celebrates International Girl Child Day
“Self confidence is the basic strength of a girl child, if girl child have self confidence they can do anything in society. International Day of Girl Child celebration is an effort towards spread the message to all girl children for their uniqueness and vital role in society.” This was observed by Smt.Mala Baijal wife of Hon’ble LG, Delhi in the celebration of International Day of Girl Child organized by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in association with Saachi Saheli - an NGO at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi today morning. The theme of the International Day of Girl Child was “Empowering the Girl Child for Better Tomorrow”.
Commercial Flights ops at Hindon airport
Civil Air Terminal at Hindon Airport today witnessed the commencement of commercial flight operations. Air Heritage’s flight 4H-104 from Pithoragarh to Hindon and 4H-105 from Hindon to Pithoragarh started operations today. The occasion was graced by Sh. Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Gen. V. K. Singh (Retd.); Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Sh. Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Almora and Sh. Atul Garg, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh and senior officials from the Airports Authority of India. The dignitaries lighted the lamp and presented flower buds, sweets and souvenirs to the departing and arriving passengers. The dignitaries also handed over boarding passes to the departing passengers. The Airports Authority of India made all necessary arrangements required for the commercial flight operations. The Airport Terminal Building was suitably decorated and proper arrangements were made for hosting personnel from the media fraternity. The dignitaries flagged off the departing flight from the tarmac. The aircraft is Kings Air B-350. The flights will operate six days a week except Thursday.
Students get training of solar study lamp
SRM Institute of Science and Technology conducted a Student Solar Ambassador Workshop 2019 at its premises in Kattankulathur on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This was organized by SRMIST in association with IIT Bombay as part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The chief guest for the event was Vice Chancellor of SRMIST, Dr Sandeep Sancheti. Guest of honour was District Education Officer, Chengalputtu, A Prabakar. The Student Solar Ambassador Workshop, the seed concept of Gandhi Global Solar Yatra, is aimed at sensitizing the young generations. At the event over 1,000 students from 13 schools were given hands on training on how to assemble a solar study lamp. Students also took a pledge of non-violence towards environment.
Union HRD Min opens 13 New Buildings of KVs
Union HRD Minister Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated 13 newly constructed buildings and laid the foundation stones of 6 Kendriya Vidyalayas located in 12 states on Friday through Video Conferencing from HRD Ministry at Shastri Bhawan. This is the first time that new buildings in such a large numbers have been inaugurated by the HRD Minister. More than 20 thousand students will be benefitted with this huge completion of work having a cost investment of more than Rs. 350 crores. Secretary (SE&L), MHRD Ms. Rina Ray, Joint Secretary, MHRD & Vice Chairman of KVS Sh. RC Meena and Joint Secretary, MHRD Sh. Sanjay Kumar were also present during the programme along with senior officers of KVS. Addressing the 19 locations through video conferencing union HRD Minister Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that KVS has become an institution of excellence within the government system and has now been recognized on international platforms.
