Hours before her visit to Delhi, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday morning wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday apart from meeting his wife Jashodaben and gifting
her with a saree at NSI Airport in Kolkata.
Banerjee wrote, “Birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modiji,” in the morning and late in the noon when she was waiting at the VIP lounge of the airport before leaving for Delhi she heard about the Prime Minister’s wife who was also returning to Gujarat.
The Chief Minister immediately rushed out and met her and demanded a second visit when “I will arrange for a site-seeing.” Modi’s wife was in Dhanbad and had come to Kolkata enroute to Delhi. She replied in the affirmative when the Chief Minister asked her as to whether she had visited Kalighat and Dakshineshwar temples.
