‘Higher Education Excellence Award’ will be given to encourage colleges and officers working there in the field of higher education in the State. This scheme is being started with the aim of creating an environment of healthy competition in colleges by Higher Education.
Under the scheme, 20 teachers and 5 principals each, sports officers, librarians and NCC officers at the State-level and 5 colleges each, laboratories and libraries will be selected from the institution category for felicitation. The evaluation of officer and institution will be based on the information related to the last three academic sessions.
Applications will be invited through advertisement for the award by the Department of Higher Education. Minimum time of one month will be given to apply. All applications will be scrutinised by the committee. The committee will submit the report to the recommendation committee constituted under the chairmanship of Commissioner Higher Education. The recommendation committee will submit its report to the jury set up under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education.
The name of the officer and institute selected for the award will be announced by Commissioner Higher Education. This information will also be displayed on the official website of the Higher Education Department.
