With gangsters unleashing violence unabated in the city, the Delhi police inducted the dreaded Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to deal the gangs which had become a headache for police. In 2018 Delhi Police busted 12 gangs in national Capital.
Irony is that most of these gang members from different gangs arrested by the Delhi Police, during interrogation have revealed about the orders they get from their leaders who are behind the bars.
"To make their gang stronger these kingpins of local gangs in Delhi, even though behind the bars, have expanded their operation into new areas with of crime including petty theft, running a protection racket, extortion, armed robbery, car-jacking, contract killing and kidnapping in national capital," said a senior police official.
GANGS BUSTED IN 2018
Karamvir and Kala Gang: The gang involved in supply of illegal arms to Gogi gang members in Delhi-NCR was busted by Delhi Police after the gang leader Karamvir and Nanha alias Kala wanted in murder case in Haryana were nabbed by police with their associates.
Nasir Gang
Delhi Police arrested three key members of the gang wanted in double murder, several cases of attempt to murder and robbery. The activites of the gang were halted by Delhi Police with the arrest these three criminals including Mohd Salim, brother of kingpin Nasir.
Rajesh Bharti Gang
With the arrest of eight gangster of Rajesh Bharti gang Delhi Police in 2018 zeroed the gang activity in Fatehpur Beri.
Irfan Chhainu Gang
Delhi Police arrested four notorious criminal associated with the gang in year 2018 and solved various cases of murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, extortion and robbery in city. The gang was active in Seelampur area.
Nandu Gang
With arrest of six people including the kingpin Kapil Sangwan, Delhi Police broke the gang involved in robbery and carjacking in National Capital.
Nizam and Rakha Gang
The gang wanted in more than 45 cases of burglary was busted by Delhi Police after seven members fall in their net.
Rohit Chaudhary Gang
The gang involved in 28 cases of murder, robbery, extortion, arms act, snatching and carjacking was zeroed down after four key member of gang were arrested by Delhi Police in city.
Fukrey Gang
The gang involved in 188 cases of snatching and robbery in a single day during Ganpati Mahotsav in Mumbai was busted after their gang leader Nadeem was arrested by Delhi Police. The gang is also involved in many other cases of robbery and snatching in other States.
Tillu Tajpuriya Gang
The activities of Tillu gang with their rivalry Gogi gang came to halt after Delhi Police arrested four sharp shooters of gang wanted in murder, attempt to murder and robbery in city. The gang was active in outer Delhi.
