2 days after murder of parents in Khyala, 18-year-old succumbs

Two days after three members of a family who were allegedly stabbed over trivial issue by a neighbour in West Delhi’s Khyala, 18-year-old Akash too succumbed to his injuries on Friday. His mother Sunita (35) had died on Wednesday while his father Veeru (42) breathed his last on Thursday. Akash was undergoing treatment at Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital in national Capital.

Akash’s parents, Veeru and Sunita hailed from Hathras district in Western Uttar Pradesh and were living in a rented accommodation at DDA Colony in Khyala C-block for the last two years. Veeru had four children. Akash and Veeru used to work in a factory while Sunita was a housewife.

‘Their eldest daughter Khusbhu (20) is married in Agra while their two more children Aman (14) and Khushi (8) are left alone now. Aman works as daily wager in a plastic shop and he cannot pay the entire house rent alone. Now issue had arises who will take their responsibility,’ said Vishambar, a neighbour.

The residents of C Block in Khyala also protested outside Khyala Police Station demanding accommodation for Aman and Khushi.

Talking to The Pioneer Aman the youngest son of the slain couple said that his family has been destroyed and the only solution to end their problem is this is that a house should be given to him by authorities so that he can earn and fulfill his parents dream to educate Khushi.  “My sister is married I cannot be burden on her. I am doing a job but I cannot afford to pay rent. I urge authorities and Government to provide me accommodation so that I could fulfill dream of my parents and send my youngest sister to school,” said Aman.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the accused Mohammad Azad was at loggerheads with the victim’s family on some petty issue. A quarrel had taken place between them and when the victim’s family came to his house, he became agitated and lost his control. He took out a chopper from his house and stabbed Sunita, Veeru and Akash in full public view as his neighbors watched in horror. Police on Thursday arrested Azad who was absconding since the incident.
