3-day training ahead of Yoga Day: Barnwal

Sunday, 16 June 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the State have been directed to organize yoga training programmes for three days before World Yoga Day on June 21. The direction was given by Principal secretary to Chief Minister, Sunil Kumar Barnwal, during a video conferencing with DCs on Saturday.

“World Yoga Day is the primary activity of the week and there should be no lacunas in the preparations. Use various mediums to link the common public with the programme,” he said during the review meeting for preparations of the event.

While the main programme for Yoga Day is to be organized at Prabhat Tara ground where people will get a chance to perform Yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many programmes are to be organized at district, block and panchayat level.

Barnawal directed the DCs to ensure installation of hoardings and banners at block and panchayat level along with organizing various programmes including run for yoga, seminars and workshops to increase public participation.

“Take help from social organizations, chamber of commerce, National Service Scheme (NSS) and other organizations to spread awareness for participation in Yoga Day. Use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Whatsapp to advertise about the programme,” Barnwal directed the DCs.

The principal secretary to CM also directed the DCs and DPROs to display advertisement related to Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojna in all schools, colleges and anganwadi centres and ensure that the principals of schools have complete knowledge about the scheme so that they can pass on the information to parents.

Barnawal also directed to organize programmes on Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on June 24 wherein first and second installments will be transferred to the account through direct benefit transfer (DBT). The DCs were also directed to organize Seedhi Baat programme with BDOs, circle officers and other officers of the district to ensure easy communication from remote areas. A time of one week has been given to the DCs to arrange for video conferencing facilities for the same.

The DCs were directed to identify PVTG, SC and ST tolas in their district for immediate installment of drinking water facilities. “Providing drinking water facilities to PVTG, SC and ST population of the State is a priority of the government for which financial aid has been allotted under the 14th Finance Commission. Also, funds from SCR, DMF and MLA funds also have to be used for installation of solar based drinking water supply system in these areas,” Barnwal said.
