The work of voluntary blood donation in Chhindwara district is taking the form of a campaign. Recently, the collection of 323 units of blood at a blood donation camp in the district hospital in Chhindwara district is a record in itself. Earlier, when the Adani Group had set up a blood donation camp in Chausra village in the district, 234 units of blood was collected.
When Chhindwara district administration had organized a blood donation camp in memory of Late Mahendra Nath, no one had imagined that such a large number of voluntary blood donors would come forward. This blood will be used for Sickle Cell patients and malnourished children. It may be noted that where there is a considerable population of the backward class community along with tribal population in Chhindwara district, the level of awareness is so good that about one-fourth of the blood donors are women. This also matters as a gesture in favour of humanity.
Doctors’ Associations, Rogi Kalyan Samiti, District Police Force, Municipal Corporation, Rotary Club and Lions Club are also speeding up the blood donation campaign in the district. People are being inspired for this good work. The important thing is that the citizens of Chhindwara have embraced the feeling that there is no alternative to blood donation. It is a great quality to be adopted for saving someone’s life and for self-satisfaction.
