A 34-year-old man was attacked by miscreants with sharp-edged weapons after he opposed passing lewd comment on his wife at Ravidas Colony under Gautam Nagar police station late in the evening on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim, Jitendra Ahirwar, was attacked by miscreant Vishnu with a sharp-edged weapon. The injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was reportedly stable.
In the initial investigation, it was found that Jitendra’s wife and his niece were sitting outside his house when the accused teased his wife by passing lewd comment which she opposed but the accused entered into verbal spate and when Jitendra was informed by his niece, he came out of the house but the accused continued to fight and rushed towards his house to bring a sharp- edged weapon and stabbed Jitendra in his chest and in a bid to save himself, the victim also sustained injuries in his hand and went unconscious.
The victim lodged a complaint with Gautam Nagar police and based on the complaint and after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The accused is yet to be arrested.
Crime record of the accused would be investigated . The accused and the victim work as labour. The family and friends of the accused would be questioned to determine the whereabouts of the absconding accused.
Meanwhile, a19-year-old girl was molested by two miscreants at Gandhi Nagar in the night on Sunday. The victim was molested when she had gone out to bring grocery from a nearby shop. Police have booked Saurabh and Sunil for molesting victim who had gone for buying grocery at around 10 pm. The search for the two accused has been started.
