After withdrawing their nomination papers of three candidates, now 44 candidates are in fray from two assembly segments in Garhwa district. On the last day for withdrawal of nominations, Manas Sinha Congress State Executive president from Bhawnathpur Assembly constituency and two from Garhwa took back their papers, according to district election officer cum deputy commissioner Harsh Mangla.
In Bhawnathpur total number of nominations accepted was 31. Of them, two were rejected during scrutiny and one was withdrawn, leaving 28 in the fray.
Six of the contestants are from national, State political parties, 10 are from registered parties and 12 are independents.
