Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta and Member of Parliament Ramesh Bidhuri on Tuesday said that they would be meeting Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on Wednesday to complain against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for its “gross violation” of the prevailing model code of conduct.
Gupta said AAP is violating ‘Model Code of Conduct’ by misusing picture of a cow and a calf for hurting sentiments of public at large and inciting religious differences amongst different groups with intent to disturb the peace and tranquility among masses. “They would also complain again AAP for violation of Model Code of Conduct by engaging its MLAs in field inspections during installation of CCTV cameras in different colonies and markets,” he said, adding that he would lodge their protest how AAP still continues to use call centers for its misinformation campaign with regard to deletion and addition of names from voters’ list.
The BJP leader said that in the complaint made to CEO of Delhi, it has been mentioned that the AAP leaders are continuously violating the model code of conduct. “In spite of the model code of conduct came in force, the AAP leaders are holding meetings without the permission and indulging in mis-propaganda,” he said.
