Amit Shah’s Jharkhand visit postponed

Sunday, 01 September 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) informed on Saturday that party’s National President Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to the State is postponed due to prayer meetings organised by the party at its headquarters in New Delhi on the day for untimely death of former Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley.

Addressing a Press meet State BJP General Secretary, Deepak Prakash welcomed the decision of the Central Government to implement NRC in Assam and said that it was a very old demand. “This will benefit the local residents in Assam. There are many districts in Jharkhand where Bangladeshi infiltrators have come and settled. BJP is also demanding in Jharkhand to take action against these infiltrators,” he added.

Prakash said the party Executive National president visit to the State was completely successful and pumped extra energy among workers of the party in the State. “The enthusiasm with which the tribal participated in the tribal convention in Gumla shows their confidence in the development work of the Government,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that opposition parties are misrepresenting facts about Konar Dam project failure.

“The first break that took place on the embankment was not on the Konar project but on the Bagodar branch canal of Konar. There is a railway line on the twentieth kilometer of this branch canal. Therefore, a regulator gate was also installed after a distance of 17.1 km. There is also an escape regulator gate to release water. Water was also being released through this escape regulator gate. Engineers kept watch at the regulator gate and escape regulator gate until 7 pm of the day but late last night, a naughty element closed its escape regulator gate, causing the canal to completely fill with water and overflow. After that the 90 feet embankment in the canal broke,” said Shahdeo.

Four Engineers of the department were suspended on prima facie probe results,

he added.

Criticising the opposition party leaders Shahdeo said that the leaders are misleading people of the State issuing statement that entire canal has collapsed. “But the fact is that in 98 kilo meter long canal 90 feet long embankment broke due to pressure caused by filling of excessive water. Such kinds of leaders do not want to people of last lane of society should get facility of irrigation projects,”

he added.
