Awareness to resolve family disputes held

The Family Consultation Centre of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch held a community awareness programme relating to family consultation at Jaleswar slum, Delta Square here on Friday. Many girls and women participated in the programme.

Odisha Red Cross hounarary secretary Major Dr Kalapana Das inaugurating the programme spoke on various problems happening in families and their remedies.  The people were advised to resolve family issues though the Red Cross Family Consultation Centre.

Red Cross’ family advisor Bijay Laxmi Kar held discussion about various forms of violence against women, ways of solution and legal processes to resolve them.

Local Anganwadi Worker Banitanjali Das and volunteer Subashi Nayak provided cooperation. Another family advisor Pritipajna Dash was present.

On Saturday, the Odisha State Red Cross along with the Odisha State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA) held a training programme on rescue operation during natural calamities. Red Cross honorary secretary Das and OSDMA GM Prashant Nayak guided the event, attended by over 30 youth Red Cross advisors from different colleges.

Among  others, Satyanarayan Hota, Bholanath Mishra, Satanu Thakur attended as trainers. While Red Cross convenor Sumitra Tripathy coordinated the programme, OSDMA project officer Gourishankar Mishra delivered a vote of thanks.
