BJD candidate Brajakishore Pradhan won from Talcher for the third consecutive time in a margin of 24, 102 votes by beating BJP candidate Kalandi Samal.
Out of total 1, 78, 609 voters , 1, 26, 825 votes were polled on April 23. Pradhan secured highest 70,044 votes
whereas Samal of BJP got 45,942 votes.
BJD got 55 per cent, BJP 36 per cent, Congress 3.62 per cent and others 2.38 per cent of the votes. As many as 780 votes were cast for NOTA.
Meanwhile, locals expect BJD boss and CM Naveen Patnaik to make Pradhan a Minister this time, as the latter has been working for youth empowerment and downtrodden people of his constituency.
