BJP to hold statewide protest today

Friday, 15 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh BJP for the first time since it lost power in the state is launching a state-wide agitation against the Congress government to press for immediate paddy procurement from farmers at a minimum support price of Rs 2500 per quintal and seeking bonus of two years for farmers as promised by the ruling party in its election manifesto.

The BJP is also holding a day-long statewide sit-in-demonstration on November 15 in all ‘mandals’ including state capital.

Apart from it, it is launching the ‘Dhaan la tol nahin te halla bol’ drive across the state.

According to party sources, BJP national vice president and former chief minister Raman Singh will participate in the stir at the state capital while BJP state president Vikram Usendi will lead the agitation at Pakhanjore, Kanker district. Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik will take part in the demonstration at Bilha in Bilaspur while former speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal will be at Kasdol. Other party MPs and MLAs will lead agitation at their respective constituencies.

In the capital city Raipur the demonstration will be held at Bhudhapara at 2.00 pm.
