People paid floral tributes to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, on the occasion of his birth anniversary across Bokaro district on Sunday.
Ambedkar was not only a great visionary and a mass leader but also a renowned economist and social reformist.
People from several communities including students participated in a rally and displayed posters on the theme of Peace. Speaking on the occasion Mamta Singh Director of Orange, a social organization said, “Babasaheb Ambedkar was not only the architect of the Indian Constitution but was also the founding father of the Republic of India.”
She informed the people that it was his study which helped in setting up Reserve Bank of India. He was the first Law Minister of Independent India and was Chairman of the Constitution drafting committee.
“He campaigned against social discrimination and worked for the creation of a society free from discrimination based on caste, creed or gender,” said Sambhu, a social activist.
“His teachings were very relevant in today’s world and we must strive for creating a society he dreamt of,” he added.
