CBI penalised for cutting neem trees on DFO’s premises

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) on Saturday penalised the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for cutting neem trees in its premises. Acting on the complaint of an environmentalist Pradeep Dahalia, the forest department initiated a legal action. A fine of Rs 3,000 was imposed on CBI academy.

DFO Diksha Bhandari in reply to the environmentalist said, “A case was registered against CBI Academy under forest conservation Act 1976 for cutting and trimming Neem trees in its premises on January 16, 2019.” 

Dahalia said when he came to know that the premier agency which is meant to safeguard the law, is committing crime itself, he lodged the complaint on IGRS vide reference number 40014019002588 against which the DFO initiated legal action and penalised CBI Academy.
