Centre, AAP forgot about common people: Dikshit

Saturday, 04 May 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Congress candidate for the Lok Sabha election from the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency Sheila Dikshit on Friday said the BJP Government at the Centre and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi forgot all about the common people who elected them to power as they indulged in petty politics at the cost of Delhi’s development and without addressing the pressing problems dogging the people.

Dikshit while addressing a large public meeting at Gamri Road,  Ghonda, said that the Congress party has always worked for the welfare for the common people, and have remained with them in their thick and thin days.

Dikshit said that no development work has taken place in the North East Delhi area for the past five years and the people of the area have  been leading a miserable life.

She said that the people of the area should have protested vehemently instead of keeping silent at the incompetence of both the BJP MP and AAP MLAs from the area, who came to power with huge majority  by promising many things to the people, but did not fulfill even a single promise during the last five years.

She said that the BJP and AAP leaders only worked for their personal aggrandizement. She said that the people of North East Delhi should teach the BJP and AAP a bitter lesson in the Lok Sabha election by electing her from the area, as she promised to fulfill the demands of the people in the area without wasting any time.

Dikshit said that for the plight of the people of North East Delhi, the blame should squarely be put on the BJP MP and the AAP MLAs as they never bothered about the constituency even though the people in the area struggled for even basic amenities.
