On special invitation from Government of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh is participating in Lord Tirupati Balaji ‘Brahmotsav’ organized at Tirupati Balaji Temple, New Delhi.
State is exhibiting its Kosa fabrics and Bastar Art through handicraft and handloom exhibition. The expo began on May 15 will continue till May 25.
The Kosa fabrics and Bastar art is drawing customers. The colours used on the Kosa fabrics are of natural colours. The yellow colour is prepared from marigold flower; the black colour is mixture of mushroom and onion while the plain kosa cloth has been dyed with vegetable colour.
At exhibition, a customer Anandita said, she is purchasing the Kosa silk saree for her daughter as a gift as she is getting married in month of June. Another customer Arti appreciated the use of natural dye in Kosa silk laying stress that it is rare in other states.
Hotel owner from Tirupati, Ashok said he has procured the Dhokra art of Chhattisgarh to decorate his hotel. Bramhotsav is an annual festival.
