A day after an FIR was lodged by Uttar Pradesh police against former union minister Swami Chinmayanand, he refrained from making any comments while at his Ashram here. The FIR had been lodged after a 23-year-old woman student of a college run by him went missing. The student had posted a video on the social media alleging harassment by people in the management of the college.
When queried about the allegations by journalists in Haridwar, the former minister refused to respond stating that he would only give response in Shahjahanpur where the case was lodged.
On Wednesday morning, Chinmayanand tried to evade media persons for quite some time but when pressed, he just said that whatever he wished to state, he will state in Shahjahanpur. He got miffed at the media persons and went to his ashram on Dharmganga Ghat. He did not meet any person during the day and there was absolute silence in his ashram.
Notably a law college student in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh had leveled serious allegations, claiming that she also had evidence against him. She also alleged that her family was being threatened.
