Clubbing of health schemes will not serve purpose: Raman

Sunday, 17 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

nBJP national vice president and former chief Minister Raman Singh said the recent cabinet decision of the Congress-led government for convergence of all health schemes into one and utilization of funds under ‘trust’ model will not achieve the purpose as the state government kept a rider that the treatment should be done in government hospital facilities.

Addressing the media at BJP’s state headquarters on Saturday, Raman Singh said under BJP government the facilities were extended even for treatment in private hospitals as per the choice and requirement of the patients. The facility was availed even for complicated operations done outside and within the state, he added.

The rider will create problem for patients undergoing treatment for critical problems as the state does not have facilities to deal with such complicacies.

On the five questions raised by the state Congress party chief, Raman Singh said the Congress forgets that ruling party has no right to raise questions. Now that the BJP is in opposition, it will raise queries while the Congress will have to give answer to the people, he added.

Citing data of paddy procurement, he said information received from Rajnandgaon, Bhatapara and Bilaspur showed farmers there have sold their paddy at Rs 1300 per quintal in ‘Mandis’.

The data from other areas are being collected. He said that instead of indulging in politics, the ruling party should begin procurement of paddy from farmers before December 1.

Attacking the ruling Congress, Raman Singh said within 11 months it has undone all that was built in 15 years of BJP rule.

Chief Minister should not indulge in war of words instead should concentrate on fulfilling the promises made to the people, he said. He should also refrain from using abusive words against BJP and its leaders, the      former chief minister advised his successor.
