Considering the crores of devotees expected to arrive in Haridwar for the Kumbh Mela 2021, the works to be done by various departments should be completed on time. The chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh said this to officials while chairing a meet regarding preparations for the Kumbh Mela.
Singh said that for the successful management of the Kumbh Mela, all the departments need to work in coordination with each other. He directed the department officials to maintain consistent coordination with the Kumbh Mela officer and other senior officers. He directed the home department to soon start construction of CCTV control room, police station building, watch tower and transit hostel at Muni ki Reti which falls under Tehri district. The Kumbh Mela officer and other senior officers should be informed about issues being faced in execution of departmental works so that the same can be The priority works should be ascertained, he directed. Approval was also granted for various works in the meeting. These include channelisation of Ganga stream to Bhimgoda Kund, beautification of Bhimgoda Kund, construction of 100 metre bridge on Ranipur Rao river and construction of two-lane and causeway on the stretch of national highway 74 from Kangdi to 12 kilometre milestone. Additional chief secretary Om Prakash, secretaries Amit Negi, Shailesh Bagauli, DG Ashok Kumar, IG Sanjay Gunjyal, Kumbh Mela officer Deepak Rawat and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
