Uttar Pradesh Health Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sidharth Nath Singh asked why Congress had made Priyanka Gandhi Vadra the national general secretary of the party when Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were holding the fort.
“Congress is in a dilemma. It realised that two members of the Gandhi family were not good enough to ensure victory for the party. Hence it brought Priyanka and made her national general secretary of the party,” Singh said while addressing media persons in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Reacting to Priyanka’s speech at Congress Working Committee meeting in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) where she said that judicious voting was patriotism in the true sense, Singh asked whether addressing a terrorist with ‘ji’ was patriotism or questioning surgical strike was patriotism.
“She should also clarify whether squandering government money is patriotism?” Singh asked in an oblique reference to the Enforcement Directorate probe against her husband Robert Vadra.
“People will give a befitting reply to Priyanka’s patriotism by voting against the Congress, which has been questioning the valour of Indian army jawans. She said that voting is patriotism and the people will use that right to show how patriotic they are,” Singh said.
