A murder case came to the fore in Gurugram's Dundahera village where a couple was found murdered with multiple stab injuries on Thursday morning at their rented house. Police have detained one person in connection with the murder.

The deceased have been identified as Vikram (32) and Jyoti (34), both natives of Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh). They had been staying in Gurugram for the past twelve years. They are survived by their 7-year-old son. Vikram used to work at a private company in the city and his wife was a homemaker.

Vikram's brother Shailendra Singh suspects a person identified as Abhinav Aggarwal of Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) behind the murder. In his police complaint, he stated that.

"Abhinav was his brother's friend and had worked together in the past. Abhinav had borrowed Rs 1,50,000 from Vikram two years ago to start his business and was not returning the money despite several requests made by his brother.”

"Abhinav visited my brother's house on Wednesday night at 9.30 pm, I was also present there at that time but after some time I left Vikram's house but Abhinav and Vikram having liquor together," Singh stated in his complaint.

According to Singh, the incident occurred at 4 am when a member of the landlord's family named Ajit, who lived on the ground floor heard the screams of the couple.

"Soon after the screams Shailendra, his elder brother Ajay who lives in an adjoining house and Ajit checked and saw both of them were lying in a pool of blood. I rushed them to a local hospital to save them, but they were declared dead on arrival," Shailendra told the police.

According to police, the bodies bearing multiple stab injuries were found in their second-floor home in village Dundahera. However, the investigation team has been detained Vikram's friend Abhinav in connection with the incident. The police are questioning Abhinav, who was in the victims' house, at the time of the incident.

However, it is unclear whether or not their son was present at the time of the incident. "The bodies have been sent for the autopsy. We are recording the statements of the Family members and neighbours regarding the incident," said Devender Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Udyog Vihar, police station.

Meanwhile, further investigations into the matter are on and officials are interrogating Vikram’s friend, police said.
