Criminal inclination sneaking on youngsters

By the time boys in Delhi villages attain the age of 14 years, many of them start picking up quarrels with people in their area over petty issues which also develops personal enmity among these youngsters, said criminologists.

They also even prefer new nick names with curiosity to join gangs active in Delhi, said experts, adding that inclanation of teenagers towards criminal activities is on the rise. In one such incident a 17-year-old juvenile, who while testifying himself in criminal activities to members of “Nandu Gang”, ended with a registration of heinous crime against him in national Capital.

The 17-year-old, a new recruit of “Nandu Gang”, was involved in the chilling murder of Mohit Mor, a social media celebrity and a gym trainer, in Delhi’s Najafgarh area on May 21. This shows how desperate youngster have become to join the gangs and how they are being used by the gangster to fulfill their motive.

The 17-year-old was apprehended by the sleuths of Special Cell of Delhi Police on May 24 who during his interrogation disclosed that due to some personal enmity he wanted to join some criminal gang in the area.

“One month ago, he came in contact with gangster Sandeep Pahalwan alias Silotiya, the accused who offered Sandeep to become their gang member. He also asked Sandeep to try and test him in any criminal act to trust his abilities in criminal activities,” said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell.

“On May 21, Sandeep Pahalwan made video call to him and asked him to come at Bhukhandi Road in Najafgarh. There, he met Sandeep, and two of Sandeep associates identified as Vikas and Rohit Malik who were already on a Scooty,” said the DCP. “Sandeep gave three pistols, one to each and also conveyed the address of the shop where Mohit Mor was present and told them to kill Mohit. On the fateful day, he along with Rohit and Vikas went to the shop on scooty. Mohit Mor was present there and was sitting on sofa. Rohit and Vikas fired around 13 bullets on Mohit due to which he died on the spot,” said the DCP.
