Director general of Doordarshan Supriya Sahu said that Uttarakhand would soon get a 24x7 hour satellite channel of Doordarshan - DD Uttarakhand. She met the Uttarakhand chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh at the Secretariat here on Saturday and expressed the hope that the state government would extend full cooperation for telecasting local programmes on Doordarshan.
She added that in view of its new situations, Doordarshan would stress on making contemporary programmes so as to encourage the cultural and social activities of the state. She further said that Uttarakhand would soon get a 24x7 hour satellite channel of Doordarshan - DD Uttarakhand.
On this occasion, the secretary tourism Dilip Jawalkar offered for making of and broadcasting a documentary on tourism sites and adventure sports situated in Uttarakhand so that these tourism sites/sports become a powerful resource for economy of the youth and their employment.
