DPS, Ranchi holds annual Function- PARAKRAM

DPS RANCHI (Classes I - II) celebrated its Annual Function Parakram the Exhilaration of Victory here Saturday.  Former IAS officer Ratan Kumar IAS, Chairman, Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission was the Chief Guest of the function.

Tiny tots of class one performed on the theme of Sports. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body’ and ‘All study and no play makes Jack a dull boy’The young children enacted as famous personalities in the field of Sports. They were dressed up as cricketers, tennis players, footballers, etc. They presented an impressive act on the valour and courage of Arunima Sinha, the first amputee in the world to climb Mount Everest.

Students of class 2 performed on Parakram, staging history of past and present. It was a musical bonanza of foot-tapping performances interwoven into stories of bravery and courage. The little champions illuminated the examples of great people from Lord Rama, Krishna, Abhimanyu, Ashoka, Maharaja Pratap, Lakshmi Bai, Shivaji to our brave soldiers. The play revolved around the concepts of National Integration, Secularism and Patriotism with special mention of Parakram Parv being celebrated everywhere highlighting the bravery of the Indian army.

Principal Ram Singh addressed the audience & highlighted on the various accomplishments of the students of DPS Ranchi.  He appreciated the hundred per cent participation of the students in the function. He appreciated the flamboyance of the students & congratulated them for showcasing their quintessential performance. Presenting these talents on stage helps to build their confidence, courage, and certitude to win, he said.

Chief Guest Ratan Kumar was spellbound to see the astounding presentation of the kids. He emphasized the importance of curricular activities in a student’s life and later as well. He said that inculcating these characteristics at the initial age is mandatory for any educational institution. He praised the school for nurturing the young minds to be the responsible citizens of tomorrow.
