The State Meteorological Centre in its forecast issued on Saturday said that the climate is likely to be dry on Sunday, though the sky would be partly clouded.
It said that there is little likelihood of rain in the State on the day despite the cloudy condition. In Dehradun too, the climate would remain dry and the sky would remain partly overcast.
While the maximum temperature would see a slight rise, the minimum would drop by a couple of notches on Sunday as compared to Saturday. Friday had seen intermittent rain throughout the day. However, the wet spell might return for a few days as per the weather forecast.
Notably, the State Meteorological Centre has issued an advisory on Friday while sending an orange-coded alert of heavy snowfall especially in the areas situated at a height of 3000 metres and above.
As per the forecast, places in districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh are likely to experience heavy snowfall on February 21. The advisory further issued a yellow-coloured warning of hail which is likely to lash isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nanital and Udham Singh Nagar districts from the evening or night of February 18 and it would continue till February 20.
In Dehradun, the climate was dry though the sky was clouded for some parts of the day on Saturday.
As per the weather report, the maximum and the minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 23 degree Celsius and 9 degree Celsius respectively on Sunday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various towns of the State on Saturday were 22 degree Celsius and 11 degree Celsius in Dehradun, 23.2 degree Celsius and 13.6 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 5 degree Celsius and-0.7 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 11 degree Celsius and 2.6 degree Celsius in New Tehri.
