A five-day multimedia exhibition on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, organised by the Bureau of Outreach Communications of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was inaugurated by Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab at the Ravenshaw University campus here on Monday.
On the occasion, a huge awareness rally on Swachh Bharat, Green India and boycott of single-use plastics was held to sensitise the students.
The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is being observed across the country. The I&B Ministry is carrying out publicity drives in various media to mark the occasion.
The exhibition at the Ravenshaw University from October 21 to 25 depicts the life, philosophy and the pioneering role of Bapu in the freedom struggle. To highlight these contents, a mix of digital and conventional tools of communication is utilised.
Workshops, seminars and cultural programmes are being held besides a “Swachhta Hi Sewa” campaign.
In the inaugural ceremony, Ravenshaw University Vice-Chancellor Prof Ishan Kumar Patro, Information and Broadcasting Additional Director General and Additional Press Registrar Shailash Kumar Malviya, PIB Odisha Director Akhil Kumar Mishra, Ravenshaw University Registrar Ashok Kumar Das and Cuttack ADM Bijay Kumar Khandayatray, among others, were present.
