Foreign funded NGOs may divert funds for anti-national forces: BJP

Sunday, 14 April 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

State Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, on Saturday, welcomed the recommendation of CBI inquiry against the 31 Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act in Jharkhand by the Home Secretary of the Jharkhand government.

Shahdeo said that the BJP has been saying since long that the foreign funds, which was given in the name of social service, has been diverted through NGOs in the hands of anti-national forces.

Shahdeo said that a BJP delegation had already met with the Election Commission officials demanding the investigation of the funds received by the NGOs as there is a strong possibility that the anti-BJP ideology political parties are also being benefited by diversion of the funds.

Shahdeo expressed surprise over the fact that the initial investigation has revealed that there is a huge difference between the assistance given to these NGOs abroad and the returns related to it have been shown.

He said that in the preliminary investigation, it has also came to light for the purpose, the funds which these NGOs had received from foreign countries have been diverted for the other purposes.

Shahdeo urged again to the Election Commission to keep an eye on this whole issue because there is strong possibility that the funds received from foreign countries by these institutions will be used in anti –BJP ideological political parties and anti- national forces.
