Former MP Brahmpura seeks Sukhbir’s resignation

Saturday, 25 May 2019 | PNS | Chandigarh

Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) president and former MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura on Friday blamed the Badal family for the Badals-led SAD’s “shameful and humiliating defeat” in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections, and demanded the resignation of party’s president Sukhbir Badal.

Brahmpura said that the 2019 Lok Sabha elections have been completed but in Punjab the SAD, known as panthic party of Sikhs, has faced a very shameful and humiliating defeat for which the Badal family is responsible.

“Both Lok Sabha seats which Badal couple has win from Ferozepur and Bathinda are only confiscated with the connivance of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and it is quite evident from the fact that these two families have been fooling the people of the state for their personal vested interest,” alleged Brahmpura.

He said that the SAD, “Sikhs’ supreme political party” was placed on the foundation of blood and sacrifice of martyrs “but the same political party has been spoiled and tarnished by selfish and greedy Badal family”.

Brahmpura pointed that the “shameful action and wrong activities” done by the Badal couple and their companions, who have spoiled the honour and grace of SAD, should be shameful for their such action. “But they are enjoying and celebrating instead of being shameful,” he said.

He demanded that “these guilty persons of the Badal family” should seek pardon from the entire Sikh community and the party workers for such shameful defeat in Lok Sabha elections.

“SAD president Sukhbir Badal should tender his resignation over shameful defeat in Lok Sabha elections and to spoil the panthic party SAD for their personal interest and gains,” he said.
