To promote excellence and quality teaching in technical institutions, Indian Institute of Management, Raipur organised a five-day “Professional Development Training” for senior faculty members under Technical Education Improvement Program (TEQIP) III at VW Canyon from July15-19.
It was the tenth “Professional Development Training” programme under TEQIP III and was conducted under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), , which initiated the third phase of TEQIP for faculty members of higher educational institutes, according to a press release issued by the IIM, Raipur.
The IIM Raipur has been entrusted by the MHRD with the objectives of highlighting the importance of world class technical education, identifying the gaps and lacunae in the present system, processes and infrastructure and evolving the benchmarks for the delivery of education and resources management, the release said.
The training programme was attended by more than 25 participants comprising assistant Professors, associate professors and professors, from engineering colleges across the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Tripura.
Professor Sanjeev Prashar and Prof. Parikshit Charan were the programme directors for this training.
A wide variety of sessions were covered under the programme.
Dr Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Raipur took sessions on improving governance system in academic institutes. Prof. Sanjeev Prashar took sessions on inventorying on expectations and building interpersonal relations.
Sessions on improving financial system in academic institutions was taken by Prof. M. Kannadhasan and funding for R & D projects was taken by Prof. R. K. Jana. Sessions on vision, mission and goals and teaching and learning Strategies were engaged by Prof. Parikshit Charan.
Session on building team and managing stress was offered by Prof. Pankaj Singh.
Prof. Sumeet Gupta shared the learning on library management, use of ICT and GIAN.
Prof. Mohit Goswami discussed on project management and national and international industry-university partnership.
Procurement management was dealt by Prof. PRS Sarma. Prof. Satyasiba Das discussed about the accreditation process and practices.
On the Last day, the programme concluded with valedictory session and distribution of certificates. Prof.Sanjeev Prashar and Prof. Parikshit Charan (programme directors) delivered the vote of thanks.
