Rotract Club chapter opened at GIFT

Bhubaneswar: A chapter of Rotract Club Bhubaneswar Kalinga GIFT, sponsored by the Rotary Club Bhubaneswar, Kalinga, was opened at the Gandhi Institute of Technology (GIFT) here recently. GIFT Vice-Principal Dr Alok Kumar Mohapatra presided over the programme. Rotarians Sibabrata Das and Sanatu Pani attended as guests. On the occasion, rotract president Biswajit Samal and other members took oath. Among others, club president Dr HB Patanaik, rotarians RC Das, RM Patanayak, Col KC Nayak, TR Dash, Dr P Mohapatra, student volunteers Abhishek Panda, Subhashree Rout and faculty members Prof S Pati, Prof MN Das and Prof MM Sahu were present.

Fire evacuation drill held at SBI BBSR

Bhubaneswar: A fire evacuation drill was conducted on the eve of Security and Fire Safety Week at State Bank of India (SBI), local head office here on Saturday. SBI GM Devi Shankar Mishra along with senior executives and staff members participated in the mock drill conducted by AGM (Fire Safety) BP Satapathy. It was followed with a demonstration of rescue and fire fighting at the building by the Odisha Fire Department with the help of Bronto sky Lift of 72 meter height, led by Odisha Fire Services Fire Officers Ramesh Chandra Majhi and Saroj Kumar Behera.

DAV CSpur observes Earth Day

Bhubaneswar: Students of the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur here participated in a paint-and-preach display event to mark the Earth Day in the school premises on Monday. A water service kiosk also inaugurated to serve the thirsty people during the scorching summer in front of the school.
