PCCI inks MoU with GCCI
Chandigarh: Representing Punjab industry at the Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit, 2019, Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industries, (PCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) to strengthen ties for promotion and facilitation of trade and commerce between both regions. PCCI represented Punjab industry at the Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit, 2019 to promote Punjab as an investment destination and collaborate with participating international Chambers.
Hry nominates two members of HSHDB
Chandigarh: Haryana Government has nominated Dr JR Sharma, Advisor, NHRR Project, ISRO, Department of Space, Government of India and Dr Ramendra Singh, Director, Vidya Bharti Sanskritishiksha Sansthan, Kurukshetra as non-official members of the Governing Body of the Haryana Sarasvati Heritage Development Board (HSHDB), with immediate effect. A spokesman said, an order in this regard, has been issued by the Art and Cultural Affairs, Department.
‘Startup India Punjab Yatra' at Mohali
SAS Nagar: Punjab Government is organizing the 'Startup India Punjab Yatra' from January 16 to 31. The Yatra van will reach district SAS Nagar on January 29. “Two van stops are made at Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engineering & Technology and Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. Punjab Government will organize a boot camp for this Yatra on January 31 at Gyan Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, said Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra.
Innovative Biometric Platform Launched
Chandigarh: Identity Devices Sweden AB (Identity Devices), an innovative new digital identity and biometric technology company announced a new Biometric Privacy Platform (BPP) for the Aadhaar ecosystem to enable greater data security, privacy, consent, and confidentiality. BPP consists of authentication hardware and software for the Aadhaar ecosystem, preserving convenience while increasing personal privacy and data security and putting the resident in charge of the use of their Aadhaar details icluding picture, name, address, mobile number and more.
Road Safety Awareness campaign in Patiala
Patiala: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. conducted the National Road Safety Awareness campaign for kids in Patiala at the BN Khalsa Senior Secondary School. The company flagged off its new National Road Safety Awareness campaign starting January 2019 and through this initiative, it aims to cover more than 15,000 young children and adults of 10 schools across cities every month. After the start of road safety campaign in Mohali, this initiative has now expanded to Patiala.
City to host Punjab Half Marathon on Jan 27
Chandigarh: Thrill Zone will organise Punjab Half Marathon on January 27. It will be the 5th edition of this event. Thrill Zone has been organizing this event twice an year with a gap of 6 months and the venue is Chandigarh club, sector 1.
BSNL adds over 50K customers in Punjab
Chandigarh: J.C. Menaria Chief General Manager BSNL Punjab on Tuesday said that BSNL Punjab is committed to provide best of communication facilities to the people offering various services at the cheapest possible rates. In land line segment, the unlimited voice calls in BSNL Network and talk value of Rs. 100 on other network is being offered only at Rs. 129 per month. He said BSNL has been able to add new customers due to no monthly validity charges which are being levied by private operators. During last three months, 53068 mobile customers have ported in BSNL Punjab Circle , maintaining a favorable port in ratio of 0.63.
