India needs Modi as PM, says Yogi

Monday, 01 April 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that India needed Narendra Modi as the prime minister because the country had galloped on the path of development during the last five years and had grown manifold in stature globally.

“Modi is a charismatic leader. During the last five years, Modiji has shown his mettle. Various schemes launched by the BJP government have helped the poor get access to toilets, free LPG connection, uninterrupted electricity, health cover of Rs 5 lakh and the marginal farmers Rs 6000 per annum,” Yogi said while addressing a rally at Sardar Patel Park in Ghaziabad on Sunday.

He said before 2014, the country was suffering from scams, terrorism and people were in distress but Modi brought the dignity back.

The Prime Minister has launched many schemes, keeping the benefit of poor in mind. The poor is now living with dignity,” he said.

Attacking the previous government for its soft approach towards terrorists, Yogi said some parties had been offering biryani to terrorists while the Modi government offered them bullets.

“How can we ignore the martyrdom of our men in Pulwama. When Indian army took revenge and carried out air strike, Congress started asking for proof,” Yogi said.

He said the opposition parties had come together only to capture the national resources, which they want to loot.

“We are committed to the development of India. It is in BJP rule that Ghaziabad is getting a 12-lane (road) connectivity for which the government is spending Rs 32,000 crore to connect Ghaziabad with Delhi and Meerut. Work on Metro rail connectivity and airport at Hindon has started. The civil terminal at Hindon is ready and should be operational starting next month.” Yogi said.

He said the BJP was ensuring world class facilities in the Ghaziabad district and when people go for voting on April 11, they should vote for the BJP on the basis of development. “Every vote of yours will make Modi strong. Vote for development, vote for smart city, vote for economic development, vote for a strong India,” appealed Yogi.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the work done for making the city safer for women. “Today nobody can misbehave with our sisters and daughters. Now nobody can stare at our sisters and daughters. The city is now safe,” he said.

Raking up the Kairana issue, Yogi said during previous years, the state had seen migration from cities like Kairana but in the last two years not a single family had migrated from the state. “In fact, people are now coming back to UP. Only criminals are moving out of the state,” he said.

Gen (Retd) VK Singh, who is BJP candidate from Ghaziabad, said the vote to BJP would ensure continuation of development works for the next five years.
