Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday reviewed meeting on water augment projects with Delhi Jal Board. Jal board submiting action plan on the projects to solve water problems in summers. Kejriwal who is also a chairman DJB asked official to complete all projects by March 31.
These projects are related to six locations (identified by CGWB) in Yamuna flood plane with an aim to escalate water capacity by 383 MLD and restarting of non - functional ranney wells and borewells . “Our aim is that the people of Delhi should not face the problem of water in the coming summer season. We must execute all these projects of water augmentation before summer sets in,” said the Chief Minister.The four projects which were reviewed were water extraction from 6-locations between Palla and Okhla, extraction of water from freshwater pockets identified in Dwarka, restarting the closed Ranney Wells and Bore wells and additional bores in areas with high water table.
Earlier, the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) had identified 6-locations on the Yamuna flood plain between Palla and Okhla with a potential of 383 MLD water.
