JMM slams Government for Konar Dam failure

Friday, 30 August 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) slammed the State Government for Rs 2,200 crore Konar Irrigation Project as it did not last even for 22 hours after its inauguration  on Wednesday.

Addressing a press meet, JMM General Secretary, Supriyo Bhattachrya, said that the Government is claiming that the State is developing in every area but after many years of wait, the people got a ruined dam as Konar project did not last even for 22 hours after its inauguration by the CM.

“The CM should file a case against Engineer In Chief of the project, CM should file a FIR against Superintending Engineer of the Project and the CM should file a case against the contractor who got the work to construct the dam. But the CM will not do so because it is very dirty nexus and it is clear that the government will not going to take any legal action against the Minister and the officials,” said Bhattacharya.

Hitting hard on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s next visit to the State, the party General Secretary said that why he is coming to Sahebganj once again it is not clear as just two years earlier he had laid foundation stone for the construction of bridge on Ganga river but till now tender for the work has not been issued by the authority.

“It has become culture and habit of the Government to speak only lie and dupe people by making false promises but it will not last long as people of the State learned that the Government is duping them on false promises. They will teach the Government in the upcoming State Assembly elections in the State,” said Bhattacharya.
