The work of Kedarnath reconstruction is progressing at a swift pace, said Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while interacting informally with media persons at the Chief Minister’s residence here on Thursday.

He averred that Kedarnath has started emerging in a grand form in front of the nation and the world. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the people arriving here. The work on construction of the internal and bridle paths in Kedarnath is also progressing at a swift pace. Further, elaborate arrangements have been made for the convenience of visitors on the Yatra route, he said.

The reconstruction work at Kedarnath is being undertaken according to a master plan. The construction of roads and buildings here is being undertaken keeping in mind the geological condition and climate of the region. The buildings are being constructed in the traditional style of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister further said that the Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath is also being accorded a grand form. It will be attractive and unique.

The devotees will be able to view the Dharma Danda of Shankaracharya from a distance.

The Samadhi will also develop into a centre of attraction for devotes from across the nation and abroad. According to the time of the day, music programmes will also be organised here.

Attempts are being made to provide a peaceful as well as spiritual atmosphere to the general devotees here, averred the chief minister.

Regarding the preparations for the Kumbh Mela to be held in Haridwar in 2021, Rawat said that the event will be organised with grandeur.

For this, the works on highways to Haridwar are being expedited. The Kumbh Mela officer has also been directed to ensure time-bound completion of infrastructural development works in Haridwar. Tenders for the execution of permanent construction works will also be done soon.

Final touch will be given to the works related to the Kumbh Mela by October next year.

The Kumbh Mela officer has also been issued instructions to draft a clear road map to ensure this, added the Chief Minister.
