Friday, 12 July 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

After a landslide at Lincholi on the route to Kedarnath on Thursday, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police rescued at least eight people while one person and a mule are reported dead. The mishap occurred at about 3:25 PM.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Commandant SDRF Tripti Bhatt said, “As per the preliminary reports eight people were injured while one person and his mule were reported to have died because of the impact of the landslide. A 16-member SDRF team and local police went there for rescue. The rescue time was extended because there was some initial fog and a stream was flowing nearby, because of which the team was apprehensive that there might be someone there.”

According to the information provided by the Rudraprayag district disaster control room, the deceased has been identified as Pradeep (21), a native of Pokhri in Chamoli district.
