Man arrested with girlfriend in connection with snatching cases

A 26-year-old man, along with his girlfriend, has been arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in the cases of snatching in West Delhi.  Police have also recovered four mobile phones from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Raju (26), a resident of Palam Colony, Delhi and his 22-year-old girlfriend Anjali, a resident of Sagarpur, Delhi. Police said Raju was previously found to be involved in 10 cases while there was no case registered against Anjali.

According to Monika Bhardwaj, the Deputy Commissioner of  Police (DCP), West district, in May this year, an incident of snatching was took place in the area of Maya Puri, wherein it was reported that two persons one male and one female came on a bike and snatched the mobile of the complainant.

"On Monday following a tip off, both the accused persons were nabbed while they were roaming on a motorcycle in Mayapuri area. The accused disclosed about their involvement in more than 20 incidents of snatching and robberies. Even the bike was found to be stolen," said the DCP.

"During interrogation, Raju disclosed that h and his girlfriend used to take drug together. At initial stage, Anjali couldn't be trapped by the police and this raised her confidence and motivation for committing crime. Anjali used to wear clothes likes boys, due to which nobody can identify her as female pillion rider," said the DCP.
