Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati will address a public rally at Janjgir on Sunday, marking the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
She would arrive at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Mana, Raipur by a charter plane at 11.40 am from Lucknow. She will then proceed to Janjir by helicopter and land at Kahrora Bhanta at 12.15 pm.
She will then proceed for the Government High School Ground, Janjgir to address the election rally. She will be there for around an hour, party sources said.
She will return to Raipur by 2.20pm in a helicopter. From here she will proceed to Lucknow.
BSP state president Hemant Poyam said that BSP national president Mayawati will seek vote for all the 11 joint candidates of the BSP-Janta Congress Chhattisgarh-Jogi alliance. JCC-J founder Ajit Jogi will also address the meeting.
Poyam added that Sunday is also the 35th foundation day of the party formed on April 14, 1984.
The party founder Kanshi Ram incidentally also contested from the Janjgir Lok Sabha seat in 1984, laying the foundation for the party’s first political entry into the state.
The time the three times former MLA Dau Ram Ratnakar is the BSP-JCC-J alliance’s candidate from the seat. He is in the fray for the 9th time from the seat. The alliance has made the election a triangular fight.
Poyam added that BSP MLAs Indu Banjare and Keshav Chanddra, party national leaders, JCC-J office bearers and MLAs will also participate in the rally.
