Achieving a major milestone, the Mo Bus crossed a daily ridership of 1 lakh on Monday. The feat was achieved in less than a year of the operation of Mo Bus run by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in the city.
On Monday, a total of 101881 passengers boarded Mo Bus. On November 6 last year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated the Mo Bus service with an objective of providing sustainable, comfortable and economically viable mode of transport for people of Capital Region.
The usual footfall in Mo Bus is around 80,000 per day. The Mo Bus ridership used to be around 70,000 till August this year.
After amendment in the Motor Vehicle Act, there was a sudden rise in the
ridership touching around 97,000 passengers on September 6 and around 94,000 on September 8.
