After long delay finally monsoon arrived in the State and weatherman confirmed arrival of Southwest monsoon as the showers were first witnessed in Mandla, Khandwa and Chhindwara on Monday.
Cloudy weather conditions made hot and humid weather conditions in the State Capital, but with the mark of the onset of the monsoon in the State, it would probably reach State Capital in next couple of days.
In the next 2-3 days monsoon would cover most of the parts of the State. Indore and Jabalpur divisions recorded good amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours. Met department told that moisture incursion from Arabian Sea would induce monsoon arrival at the earliest.
State capital witnessed cloudy weather conditions even as isolated places witnessed rainfall for little time. Harsh humidity with hot conditions were witnessed during the day. The weather conditions would remain the same in the state capital according to the forecast. The temperatures would be witnessed around same level and would dip little.
Weather conditions are conducive to moderate rain and thundershowers over several parts of state especially in western region in the next 24 hours.With the advent of monsoon, spells of heavy rainfall would also be witnessed and warning has been issued by Met department of heavy rainfall in the Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Badwani, Ujjain, Agar and Indore districts in the next 24 hours.
Several regions recorded rainfall and Nainpur recorded highest rainfall at 5 cm, Patan and Sailana recorded 4 cm of rainfall, Bichiya, Thandla, Naalcha recorded 3 cm of rainfall.
