MP Karate Academay girls bag 7 medals in USA Karate Championship, Junior Int’l Cup

The girls of Madhya Pradesh Karate Academy showcased an impressive performance at USA Karate Championship and Junior International Cup, bagging seven medals.

The championship was played at Las Vegas from April 19 to 21. Notably, Supriya Jatav, Supriya Jatav, Gargi Singh Parihar and Vandana of Madhya Pradesh State Karate Academy represented the Indian team and won seven medals. Medals include a gold three silver and three bronze medals.

Medal winners on Saturday met Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen. Sports Director Thoussen expressed happiness over the achievements made by the players in the USA karate championship and congratulated the medal winners. He appreciated the spectacular performance of the players made in the championship and prompted them to continue performing similar performances in the upcoming tournaments.

On this occasion, the Chief Instructor of Karate Academy Jaydev Sharma was also present.

Karate Academy’s player Supriya won gold medal by defeating USA’s player 5-1 in the final round. Supriya  is India’s first karate player, who reached the finale of Elite Division and gave the country gold medal. Earlier in the first round, Supriya defeated Brazil 7-3 in the second round, 7-3 in the second round, and Colombia 2-2 in the third round. Supriya earned silver medal at the Kumite Fight Team event.

Similarly, Academy player Gargi Singh Parihar earned a bronze medal in the Junior International Cup silver medal and the Elite junior 54 kg weight category individual Kumetis and Advance Team Kumetis in the USA Open Karate Championship. Academy’s player Vandana also earned bronze medal in the Advance Jr. 50kg weight category individual Kumite and Bronze medal in Team Kumme and individual Kumite medals in the Junior International Cup at the USA Open Karate championship.
