An evening of music is being organised by the theatre artistes of Nainital to mark the late thespian Nirmal Pandey’s ninth death anniversary today (Monday). The elder brother of the late actor, Mithilesh Pandey said that the main singer on the occasion will be Mahesh Pandey who teaches music at the MBPG College in Haldwani.
It is pertinent to mention here that after initially playing roles in Ramleelas, Nirmal Pandey got involved with Yugmanch, a noted theatre group in Nainital. Later, after learning the finer aspects of acting from the National School of Drama (NSD), he had gone to Mumbai to make a place for himself in the world of acting.
Following memorable roles in some films, he became famous in commercial cinema too. He also elicited appreciation for his thespian skills at some international platforms. He hailed from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.
