Neighbour kills minor over watching TV, held

A 14-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by a neighbour over watching television on Saturday night at village Gadouli Khurd.

The police arrested the accused on Sunday. The accused allegedly killed the boy by suffocating him with a pillow.

The victim has been identified as Rahul Khan of Nuh who was currently residing in village Gadouli Khurd with his father Imran Khan.

According to police, Imran Khan was working in Ishwar Shah mill for the past one year. His son Rahul came here two months ago.

The accused, Uday Manal of Bihar, was their neighbour and was associated with Geeta Packaging Industries as a Mason.

On May 13 Imran’s son went to their neighbour’s room to watch television. Uday and his two of his friends were already present there.

“After some time there was a quarrel between Rahul and Uday over watching television. At that time Uday threatened the boy with dire consequences and left the place.

On May 19 the victim’s father left his native place at Nun leaving Rahul behind,” the police said.

“He was sleeping in the room and in the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday the accused broke the window of their house and murdered the victim,” the police added.

The next morning neighbours peeped inside the victim’s house where he was lying on the floor and they immediately informed the police, the police took the victim to a private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

After an autopsy, the body was handed over to the family.

“During the probe, we got a lead about the accused after scanning a CCTV footage installed at Lotus garden nearby incident spot and on the basis of the footage we identified the accused,” Sanjay Kumar, SHO of Sector-10 A police station, said.

“The accused was absconding since after the incident but after a daylong search we finally nabbed him from Delhi’s Kapashera border and lodged him in the Bhondsi Jail,” the SHO, said.

“On the complaint of victim’s father, a murder case has been registered against the culprits under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further probe into the matter is underway,” Subhash Boken spokesperson of Gurugram police said.
