Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth on Sunday said that no incidents of mob lynching were reported in Jharkhand – a statement that questions the hue and cry over at least six deaths allegedly caused in mob violence in Jharkhand this year. Addressing media persons at Daltonganj, Seth said, “Not a single incident of mob lynching has happened here. I am saying it and I mean it.”
Praising the Raghubar Das-led NDA Government in Jharkhand, Seth said that strengthened security system and prompt initiatives under the Das Government has not only improved the law and order situation but also pushed Left Wing Extremist (LWE) groups on the back foot.
“Today, people travel to different cities by road in the night. This was unthinkable before 2014 due to the fear of LWE groups on the highways,” Seth said. He added that bandhs called by LWE groups were not hampering life in Jharkhand anymore. “Do you hear about Naxal bandhs these days? Earlier, it was a monthly affair,” he said.
The MP reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will achieve its target of 65 plus seats in the 81-member assembly and reassured that the development works will speed up. “The pace of development is fast, but we still have many more things to do,” he said.
Seth, however, refused to comment on BJP minister Saryu Roy’s decision of quitting the party and contesting elections against Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
“No comments. He (Roy) has his own course of action. I do not want to make any comment on Saryu Roy. I do not want to touch this Roy issue,” he said.
