The National Service Scheme Unit of BSSS College had organised an orientation program for newly admitted students on Saturday.
In this programme, RK Vijay (State NSS Officer) as a chief guest, AK Saxena (Program Coordinator of NSS Barkatullah University Bhopal) as guest of honour and Rahul Singh Parihar (Open Unit Program Officer Barkatullah University Bhopal) as a special guest and Fr Johny PJ (Principal BSSS) were present.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting of lamp and garlanding on the picture of Swami Vivekananda, followed by prayer song and NSS Lakshya Geet.
A beautiful prayer dance was also staged by NSS volunteers based on the theme Shiva Aaradhana.
The welcome address was given by Fr Johny PJ (Principal). In his address he spoke about the importance of social service for a student, and made an announcement for opening a blood bank in BSSS Campus with the help of NSS volunteers in near future. He also motivated and encouraged students to join the NSS.
Moving further Naina Singh (PO NSS Female Unit) presented report of NSS regular activities for the academic session 2018-19. Students also performed a Folk dance (Lavani), which was very much appreciated by the audience.
In his address, Rahul Singh Parihar said that the NSS provides an opportunity for a student to develop his personality. He informed the students about the benefits of joining NSS.
After which a comedy drama was presented on the subject of superstition, which aims to avoid the hypocrisy from the society and to make the public aware of its danger. Giving momentum to the program, today's honorable guest AK Saxena explained the importance of A, B and C certificates in the National Service Scheme.
Subsequently, Contemporary dance was presented which highlights the social problems faced by women. The subject of which was incidents of molestation and rape of women in India.
After this, the Chief Guest RK Vijay described the National Service Scheme as a better platform today know himself/ herself , to decide aims of life and to serve the nation. This was followed by a dance filled with patriotism.
