Bharatiya Janata Party’s firebrand leader and former member of Rajya Sabha, Vinay Katiyar, lambasted All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi for trying to trigger communal disturbances on the Ayodhya verdict for his own vested political interests.
“When the entire country showed a picture of harmony with Hindus refraining from celebrations after the Supreme Court verdict, the act of Owaisi and All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) of filing a review petition exposes the intentions of Muslim leaders,” Katiyar told media persons in Lucknow on Monday.
Katiyar, once the Hindu hardline mascot of Bharatiya Janata Party, said: “When the Ayodhya issue has been resolved, these leaders are trying to create problems for their own vested political interests.”
Katiyar said that at present, the atmosphere in the country after the Ayodhya verdict was peaceful and there was total communal harmony with majority of Indians – both Muslims and Hindus – accepting the verdict.
“But it is unfortunate that leaders like Owaisi are trying their best to disturb peace in the country and making attempts to incite minorities in the name of Ayodhya judgement,” he said.
Katiyar even warned Owaisi that if he did not mend his way, they “knew how to treat such people”.
