Saturday, 31 August 2019 | PNS | Jamshedpur

The ardent fan of the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, Pappu Sardar, is celebrating Teej festival by spreading message on water conservation, which he said was the need of the hour.

As part of Haritalika Teej festival scheduled September 1, Pappu Sardar is organising a two-day free henna design camp for ladies on August 30 and 31 respectively at his eatery opposite Basant Cinema Complex in Sakchi.

On day one, about 400 women participated in the camp and had henna applied on their hands. Pappu said that approximately 1,000 ladies are expected to have henna designs applied on their hands. Time has been fixed between 10 am and 10 pm each day on a first come–first served basis.

Pappu said that he is using the occasion to spread awareness to save water. Each woman is being asked to save at least 2 litres of water every day.

He said water is a fast depleting natural resource and one should work towards conserving and recycling water from existing sources. It is the responsibility of each and every individual to conserve water and spread the message across society.
