In an effort to enhance the quality of education in Gurugram and adjoining districts, the Haryana Government will soon start English training sessions for Government school teachers.

The first of this programme was recently conducted in Nuh. There the Haryana government had conducted the session with support from an NGO who had helped the English teachers to improve their teaching skills and command over the language.

“During the sessions in Nuh, we had conducted a test to check the teachers’ ability in the subject and were shocked that some of the teachers do not know the basics of English.

“The first session which we have started with the Nuh district. We have prepared around 80 teachers all over government school in Nuh,” a senior official with the education department said. “Now we are planning to continue these sessions in the adjoining districts of Gurugram as well. The administration has taken this step to improve quality education in government-run schools.

“In rural areas, students, as well as teachers, have a serious issue with the language and these activities will definitely help student for their better future,” he added.

The official also informed that the government will evaluate the teachers at the end of the programme.

“After the session, we will take one on one test of each teacher to check how much they have learnt during the session.”

“This is actually not good for the state as such kind of teachers to educate the students who have no knowledge about their subjects,” he said.

“We are also planning to visits the government’s schools in Gurugram and adjoining district twice a week. So that we can monitor the quality of the education in the government’s school.”

According to administration officials, the state government wants to improve the quality of education in the region and these practices will surely help students to improve their skills.
